How to bring Peace & Calm to your home
Don't we all desire a home that is peaceful & calming... away from the clammer of the world? Well there are a few things to consider to achieve this.
- Clear out the clutter. You do not need to fill every empty space
- Make your color scheme calm soothing, & neutral, with different textures & patterns to create visual interest
- Where is your favorite place? Is it by the beach? The spa? The Mountains? Incorporate that into your space
- Make your space cozy with comfy furniture, soft rugs, fuzzy blankets & plush cushions
- Create Sensory elements of calm - soft music, essential oils in diffuser - scents such as eucalyptus or lavendar
- Personalize your space with meaningful artwork, family photos and/or objects that bring you joy & a sense of warmth to your home
- Designate certain spaces or a space as a relaxation zone. A place to breathe, read, journal or pray
- Lighting is super important - glaring lights won't help you relax & dim lights won't help you cook supper. Well thought-out lighting in each room in a must
- Bring the outdoors inside. Stunning floral arrangements, hearty houseplants, natural wood or stone
- Not using harsh chemicals in your home will create a healthier atmosphere for all who enter it
- Last but not least, limit technology in your home. Have technology free rooms, especially the bedrooms. And turn off electronics while eating meals together or entertaining. Have only one area in your home as the charging zone. And children do not need to be attached to electronics all day long, its not good for their little brains. As adults we are on our devices more than we need to be. Time to put limits on these.
I think its time we all start incorporating a little calm & peace into our homes & into our lives!

What the Bible says about...
Healing...
The truth is, God sent Jesus because He wants us well. And He wants us healthy in every area of life. He wants us healthy spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially, and in our relationships. He is unlimited in His power, and completely able and willing to heal us.
The Bible speaks of healing in the Old & New Testaments. In various places it is written that he wants us to turn away from evil, to fear God, obey his commands, do what is right in the sight of the Lord & he will heal our diseases. Psalm 103:3 says "He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases". Proverbs 3:8 says "Don't be impressed with your own wisdom, Instead, fear the Lord & turn away from evil; Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones".
All throughout the New Testament Jesus speaks to his followers, and all those who are sick - to rise up & go, your Faith has healed you. Prayer offered in faith will make you well. We move, then God moves...
James 5:16 - "Confess your sins to eachother & pray for one another so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power & produces wonderful results".
Isaiah speaks of Christ coming & healing, in the Old Testament already. He fulfilled scripture. Isaiah said he took our sicknesses & removed our diseases. He cast out demons. By his stripes we are healed - meaning how he was tortured & crucified for us... so we can be well.
So does God want us healed? Absolutely... we weren't created to be sickly. So take that to prayer... and look up all the many scriptures on healing in the bible, because there are alot.

Peonies in bloom
Discover the beauty and symbolism behind peonies, the flower that inspires my blog's name. Learn about their history, care, and how they can bring joy to your life. More to come on that topic.

It's a new year now... do you ever start the year with finding your "word"? Something that stands out & has special meaning to you for where you're at right now? I do this, and put it on a letter board so I see it every day... I also create a vision board & plaster it with things I love, am passionate about & would like to do or accomplish this year... try it!
